Meiphung Productions’ during its annual red carpet cum premiere of latest Tangkhul film “Khanaowa Shongza” presented Lifetime Achievement Award to MK. Vaorei, one of the best writers of Haolywood.

The 5th annual red carpet cum premiere of the latest Tangkhul film “Khanaowa Shongza” was held on December 3, 2021 at Ukhrul Town Hall. Movie lovers in large numbers came out to watch the premiere and got the chance to interact with the cast and crew of the movie.
With the pandemic, it has been two long years since the last movie came out from Meiphung Production. So, the release of Khanaowa Shongza, the fifth movie from Meiphung Production has been a long awaited film for many Tangkhul film lovers.
The story is written by MK. Vaorei and directed by Oshim SW, a fame Tangkhul artist and it is his first venture into direction. It also features Seema KS Awungshi as Assistant Director, her debut in direction. Pamshim Rungsung was the cinematographer and editor.

On the first day of the show of the movie, Meiphung Production recieved Rs. 2 Lakh turnover. This is a whopping amount for Haolywood, breaking the record of “Kha Yurna Mataimei” which saw Rs. 1.80 lakh on its first show.
Selina Chanthing who have acted in two movies of Meiphung, stated that “it is always pleasant working with Meiphung because of their professionalism. They deliver the project on time, and I have learned so much working with them.”
With a runtime of 92 minutes, the bilingual film (Tangkhul and Meitei languages) which is set in the 90s has caught the attention and receives much good reviews by fans and enthusiasts.
Meiphung Production was established in 2014, it would not be wrong to say that with its inception the Tangkhul Film Industry was revived and taken to a much higher level.
