Election Commission of India is all set to launch an electronic form of EPIC in the upcoming “National Voters’ Day” to be observed on January 25, 2021.

The integrated Final Electoral Rolls of all 60 Assembly Constituencies of Manipur were published on Friday by the concerned Electoral Registration Officers (EROs).
Briefing the media at the Conference Hall of CEO Office, Lamphelpat, Imphal, joint chief electoral officer Ramananda Nongmeikapam informed that the Final Electoral Rolls was based on the special summary revision programme conducted during COVID-19 pandemic (November 16 to December 15, 2020). The updation process will begin from Saturday, he added.
As per the Final Electoral Rolls, Manipur has a total of 1,95,8087 electors including 95,1409 male, 1,00,6581 female and 97 third gender. For the first time, female electors outnumbered male electors by 55172.
During the campaign, 50,553 claims were lodged in Form 6 out of which 47,301 were admitted after verification. Additionally 11,855 objections were lodged in Form 7 and 11,042 were accepted, 11,011 electors were deleted due to death, change of residential address and repetition.
The state has altogether 2,894 polling stations, whereas 602 polling stations are for Urban and 2292 are for Rural, Ramananda added.
Out of 1,95,8087 electors, the state has made available the EPIC (Elector’s Photo Identity Card) to 1,95,7692 electors. Meanwhile, Election Commission of India is all set to launch an electronic form of EPIC in the upcoming “National Voters’ Day” to be observed on January 25, 2021.
He further said that the general public or electors and representatives of political parties may inspect or verify the Final Photo Electoral Rolls at the offices of the Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) or Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) and with all the Booth Level Officers (BLOs). They may also visit Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Manipur’s website www.ceomanipur.nic.in to inspect the Final Photo Electoral Rolls.
The Press Conference was also attended by officials of CEO Manipur, N Angangjao Singh and Loukrakpam Sujata Devi.
