Chairperson, Communications department of the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) during a press conference called on Monday evening at the Congress Bhavan, Dimapur, rubbished the claim that the “exit poll” widely circulating through the national media since a day before that the NDA-BJP led would be once again come to power at the Centre.

Terming that “everyone” is aware that every Indian has voted in favour of the INDIA Bloc and that unlike the previous years which was a kind of a “sabotage” before laying the “verdict”, the NPCC communications department chairperson, Yanger Longkumer, at the press conference made a fervent request to the Nagas as well as the people of the mainland not be “deceived” by the falsity but to wait for the declaration on June 4 in the state of Nagaland by evening.

As far as the India bloc is concerned, he said Supongmeren Jamir who is a stronghold against the NDPP’s candidate for the lone Lok Sabha seat from the state also shared his optimism that as per the party’s assessment, the Congress would comfortably win about 295 seats to form the government at the Centre.

Also shedding light on the June 26 ULB elections in the state, Yanger Longkumer, said that “rumours” about alliance by the NDPP and other regional parties with the India Bloc if it comes to power, he maintained that if any “possible alliance” would be decided by India Bloc and the AICC’s leadership.

He also added that the Congress would be fielding its candidates to contest all the seats in the ensuing ULB elections without any alliance to give chances to youths and women for which he encouraged to come forward in seeking tickets of the party for the ensuing ULB elections.
