Kangpokpi Area COVID Task Force one of the seven area wise COVID Task Force in Kangpokpi Assembly Constituency constituted by the local MLA to combat the dreaded COVID-19 second wave in her constituency embarked on ‘Mask Kangpokpi’ campaign in Kangpokpi DHQs on Saturday.
The Kangpokpi Area COVID Task Force, along with the other six areas’ COVID Task Forces, was entrusted to ensure COVID advisories or guidelines are strictly followed by the public in Kangpokpi Assembly Constituency.
They were also entrusted to monitor price hike of essential commodities in their respective areas and promote awareness on COVID-19 and its appropriate behaviours to the masses.
The Kangpokpi Area COVID Task Force les by its president Haolet Khongsai and General Secretary Hekim Hangshing embarked on ‘Mask Kangpokpi’ campaign today in the district headquarters to ensure that the SOPs and guidelines of COVID are strictly followed by the local populace in the town.
They came across a few people coming out from home for emergency needs without masks and they distributed masks provided by the local MLA while strictly cautioning them not to venture out without wearing masks in future.
Some children, youngsters and adults were also seen loitering around without any reason and the COVID Task Force team provided them mask and send them back to their respective home while cautioning not to come out without any emergency reason in future.
Speaking to media person, Haolet Khongsai, President Kangpokpi Area COVID Task Force said, “We have started monitoring the area by embarking on Mask Kangpokpi while adding that we will embark on various other activities, including ensuring various COVID appropriate behaviours, price hike, awareness, etc.”
“We will also start sealing the containment zone properly declared in the area along with other authorities concerned while random testing shall also be conducted to those loitering around without any reason in the area after obtaining permission from the authority concerned,” he added.
He also appealed to the denizens of Kangpokpi area to contact the Kangpokpi Area COVID Task Force anytime in any COVID related cases.
Meanwhile, Kangpokpi Area COVID Task Force also extended sincere gratitude to the local MLA for providing various personal protective equipment, including masks, sanitizer, gloves, PPE kits, etc.
