With 130 fresh cases reported in the last 24 hours, the active cases have surged to 705 in Manipur.
In the last 24 hours, two persons aged 46 yrs (female, Imphal West) and 63 yrs (male, Imphal East) expired at Shija Hospital and JNIMS Hospital respectively, taking the death toll to 383, according to COVID-19 Common Control Room.
The fresh cases from the general population are from Imphal West (50), Kakching (30), Imphal East (23), Bishnupur (7), Chandel (5), Ukhrul (5), Kangpokpi (3), Churachandpur (2), and Thoubal (2).
The caseload now stands at 30,281. The state has been witnessing a steady increase in the number of new cases. Screening at entry points has been ramped up. Entry to the state has also been restricted without a COVID-19 negative result taken within 72 hours.
Meanwhile, 1,23,720 individuals have been vaccinated in the state so far, according to latest information. From May 1, individuals above 18 years of age will be vaccinated.
