COVID-19: Manipur reports 791 new cases, active cases surge to 9,048

The State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee reported 14 COVID-19 deaths in the last 24 hours.

After steady decline in the daily positivity rate for the last couple of days, Manipur on Friday reported 791 new cases and 14 deaths, with a daily positivity rate of 10.29 per cent.

Active cases in the state surged to 9,048. Out of these 4,819 active cases are in home isolation, as per the latest IDSP Manipur update.

In the last 24 hours ending 5 pm Friday, the State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee reported 14 COVID-19 deaths. Eight persons from Imphal East, three from Imphal West, and one each from Bishnupur, Kangpokpi and Thoubal died at RIMS (6), JNIMS (3), Shija Hospital (3) and Raj Medicity (2).

The positive cases from the general population are — 271 from Imphal West, 167 from Imphal East, 89 from Churachandpur, 84 from Thoubal, 52 from Kakching, 49 from Bishnupur, 24 from Kangpokpi, 23 from Chandel, nine from Senapati, six each from Kamjong and Tengnoupal, four from Noney, three each from Tamenglong and Ukhrul, and one from Jiribam.

As per the Health Department, 592 persons were discharged, out of which 380 are from home isolation, 11 from RIMS, four from JNIMS, and the rest 197 are from other COVID care facilities.

The total number of infections in the state has reached 53,690 and 863 total deaths. The recovery rate stands at 81.54 per cent.

Oxygen Status

In the last 24 hours, a total of 928 D-type Oxygen cylinders and 410B- type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of Manipur and the Central Medical Store in the Directorate of Health Services has 650 D type cylinders in stock, according to the Health Department.
