Flattening the curve remains a huge challenge for Manipur as fresh cases hit yet another highest single day spike with 757 fresh cases on Saturday and reported 13 more deaths.
The state positivity rate of the day shot to 23.93 percent, from Friday’s 20.78 percent. Active cases have surged to 6,390. Out of these 4,365 active cases are in home isolation.
Imphal West reported maximum cases of 336 infections, followed by Imphal East with 141 new cases, 82 from Churachandpur, 54 from Bishnupur, 48 from Kakching, 31 from Kamjong, 25 from Thoubal, 14 from Senapati, nine from Tamenglong, five each from Chandel and Kangpokpi, three from Ukhrul, and two each from Noney and Tengnoupal.
Six deaths were reported from Imphal West, four from Imphal East and one each from Churachandpur, Kakching and Thoubal. They died at DH Thoubal (1), DH Churachandpur (1), Raj Medicity (1), Shija Hospital (2), JNIMS (4) and RIMS (4) hospital.
In the last 24 hours ending 5 pm Saturday, 652 persons were discharged from CAPF (13), Home Isolation (500), RIMS (1), JNIMS (9), RD Wing (4), LANVA (7), BB (17), NSU (12), SHRI (12), Babina Speciality Hospital (2), CCC Lamboikhongnangkhong (28), Jivan Hospital (1), RAJMED (5), Thoubal (10), Bishnupur (6), Ukhrul (13), Churachandpur (2), Tamenglong (1), Kangpokpi (8), and Jiribam (1). The recovery rate stands at 83.69 %.
Air passengers who travelled to the state on May 20, 2021 by Air India AI-889 in rows 14-35 have been instructed to inform the Common Covid Control Room 1800-345-3818 or respective District Surveillance Officers (DSO) for further surveillance and necessary testing.
The total infection of the state has reached 43,322 with 674 total deaths.
