COVID-19 Manipur: Recoveries overtake new cases, 15 deaths reported

598 fresh infections reported. With 783 persons discharged on Monday, active cases in the state reduced to 8,984.

After a brief respite, the daily positivity rate of Manipur jumped back to above 10 per cent on Monday. 598 new cases were reported out of the 4,987 tests in the last 24 hours ending 5 pm Monday, with an 11.99 per cent positivity rate.

According to the Health Department, in the last 24 hours, the State Level Covid 19 Deaths Audit Committee reported 15 COVID-19 deaths. Six persons from Imphal East, five from Imphal West, two from Thoubal, and one each from Bishnupur and Churachandpur died at RIMS (3), JNIMS (5), Shija Hospital (4), Raj Medicity (1), DH Churachandpur (1) and Bal Bhavan (1).

With 783 persons discharged on Monday, active cases in the state reduced to 8,984. Out of these 4,083 active cases are in home isolation. 555 persons from home isolation, 30 from RIMS (11) and JNIMS (19) and 198 from other COVID care facilities were discharged.

The positive cases from general population are — 202 from Imphal West, 117 from Imphal East, 83 from Churachandpur, 72 from Thoubal, 54 from Bishnupur, 26 from Kakching, 14 from Jiribam, seven from Tengnoupal, six from Chandel, five each from Kamjong and Tamenglong, four from Senapati, and one each from Kangpokpi, Noney and Ukhrul.

Total number of infections in the state has reached 55,828 with 896 total deaths. The recovery rate is 82.30 per cent.

Oxygen Status

According to the Health Department, in the last 24 hours, a total of 1310 D-type Oxygen cylinders and 462 B-type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of Manipur.
