All required information related to COVID-19 would be easily accessible to all the citizens which would go a long way in dispelling any doubts that the general public might have, said Rio.

Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, on Thursday launched the Nagaland COVID-19 App at the “War Room”, Nagaland Civil Secretariat, Kohima.
Speaking at the launching event, Rio congratulated the Department of Information Technology & Communication (IT&C) for successfully developing and launching the much needed Nagaland COVID-19 information App and said that the App would greatly help the citizens in gathering accurate information related to COVID-19 in the State.
Lamenting on the fact that misinformation and false speculations were hampering the States’ fight against COVID especially the vaccination drive, Rio, however, said that with the launch of the App, all Required information related to COVID-19 would be easily accessible to all the citizens which would go a long way in dispelling any doubts that the general public might have.
He further stressed the need to educate the public and said that the dissemination of proper and accurate data and information is vital in ensuring that the State successfully contains the COVID-19 situation.
Rio later informed that the State was at par with other states in the field of information technology and acknowledged the efforts of the “War Room” who have been working tirelessly for the past few months.
The Nagaland Chief Minister, also made an impromptu call to the Mon District COVID-19 helpline and talked with the personnel managing the Covid-19 crisis in the district with regard to the overall COVID status in the district and asked them if they have any grievances which the Government can look into.
It may be mentioned that the Nagaland COVID-19 information App is developed and maintained by the Department of Information Technology & Communication, Nagaland, for the State COVID-19 War Room.
The main objective of the App is to provide COVID-19 information including hospital bed status to the citizens and also contact information at all levels of management of COVID-19 in the State is provided to assist the citizen to quickly get help during times of emergencies.
The Mobile App which is a minimized version of the Nagaland COVID-19 Dashboard portal provides information on COVID-19 case details in a snapshot, guidelines and notifications related to COVID-19 issued by the Government, and details of COVID-19 testing and vaccination sites along with proper map.
Citizens can also register for vaccination through the App as it is linked with the Cowin portal for which contact details would be available at State Level – War Room / State Emergency Operating Centre / COVID-19 Helpline, District Administration, DTF & District Helpdesks, All Hospitals helpdesk related to COVID-19, COVID-19 Bed Status of hospitals in all the Districts, Basic Covid-19 FAQs, Returnees / inbound travelers can also fill the self-declaration form through the App.
Meanwhile, a new update of the App would also be launched soon which will include a self-assessment feature to guide and help individuals who have COVID-like symptoms to determine whether to seek medical help or not. Others present at the launching programme of the COVID-19 information App included Minister, Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland, S. Pangnyu Phom, Advisor IT & C, Mmhonlumo Kikon, MLAs and HoDs including Commissioners and Secretaries.
