Proscribed Alliance for Socialist Unity, Kangleipak (ASUK) and Coordinating Committee (CorCom) condoled the demise of three leaders of proscribed outfit People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK).

PREPAK acting chairman Khumujam Ratan a.k.a. Kh Sathy, organization secretary Mayengbam Joychand a.k.a. Michael Luwang and GSO-1 Lt Col RK Ramananda a.k.a. Roger died on May 23 at an undisclosed location.

In a release, ASUK said that Kh Sathy was a “precious gem” of the revolutionary movement of the land. He showed exemplary character right from the moment he joined the outfit. Chairman Sathy was a courageous young leader and a true revolutionary soldier who never gave up, it added.

Even though he was captured many times by the enemy, he spent his days getting along well with others and performing his daily routines of reading, learning English, working out, amongst others. He was someone who came up with a fish when thrown into water and came out with gems when thrown into fire. After becoming commander he showed respect to both his young and old comrades alike. A logical thinker, his actions were always rational and he always stood for truth, the release added.

ASUK further said that organization secretary Michael was a young leader who had a bright future. He possessed two rare qualities — hard working, someone who believed work is worship and relentless in searching and analysing. He was someone who never wanted nothing other than revolution, it added.

The release further said that, as if he knew he was leaving soon, he wrote a song:

“Yeknaba kayana nangbu langoi chankhrabadi

Lamyanba athouba kayana thawai katkhibadu ningsingu.

Aki-tujung leitana maiyoknarammu lanphamda Tungda lakpa kayagi lambi yatlammu nakhoina”.

Late Michael used to read and write only on revolutionary themes, watch revolutionary films, even dreamt of revolution while sleeping, the release added.

Like the other two revolutionary leaders, Lt Col RK Rozer was a young leader who had a bright future. He was courageous and showed respect and exemplary behaviour to the elders, it added.

ASUK said that the demise of the three leaders will remain an irreparable loss to not only PREPAK and Kangleipak, but for the whole of WESEA.

On the other hand, the umbrella group Coordinating Committee (CorCom), of which PREPAK was a member, also condoled the demise of the three leaders.

In a release, CorCom said that acting chairman Sathy was a standing member of CorCom from 2011. He was also the convenor of the Publicity Committee of CorCom for the term 2017-2018. From June 2018 until his demise, Sathy served as the treasurer of CorCom.

Organization secretary Michael Luwang had served as the convenor of the Home Committee, a sub committee of CorCom. These leaders played an important role in advancing CorCom, it added.

The three leaders fought for the independence of Kangleipak (Manipur) and inspired the revolutionary movement until their last breath. With an aim to escape from the clutches of India, they relentlessly strove towards uniting the revolutionary organisations of the land. An unfillable void will remain in the “war for independence” of the land and also in CorCom after their demise, it added.

CorCom also joined the friends and families of the three leaders in their hour of grief.
