The proscribed People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) and its armed wing Red Army observed the 8th “Indian Colonialism Resist Day 2021”. The outfit has been observing the day in remembrance of the atrocities meted out to the women of the state by the Indian security forces behind the garb of “Black Laws”, and the 1980 incident of Patsoi-Langjing Khunou of inhumane atrocities by the CRPF personnel.

A release by the PREPAK secretary-in-charge of the Publicity and Propaganda, Leibaak Ngaakpa Luwang stated that Kanglei Khunai (society of Kangleipak) has hit its nadir after India “forcefully annexed Kangleipak (Manipur)” and used direct and indirect tactics of “imperialism” based on “colonisation and militarisation”. There is strong fear that the indigenous people of the state might be wiped out from the face of the planet. Allowing “guileful” India’s wrong governance, which is made to look like the right path, for generations has led to a dangerous state. Tactics of pitting communities against each other are increasing, so as to start a “civil war”, it added.

On the other hand, the Indian leaders are proclaiming to the world that the country follows the highest ethos of democracy. But the true face of democracy is yet to be seen in the country, the release stated. It won’t be wrong to say that it is a country run by some influential and wealthy people. It is a country based on the idea of “liberalism”, where the rich do whatever they wish to and work only for their benefits. These “wrong traits of liberalism” are being taught to some people from “Kangleipak (Manipur)” beyond the ethos of democracy. They are being taught to be greedy and selfish by too much freedom in the name of “democratic rights”. PREPAK opined that the only solution to get rid of such ailments is to “regain” the independence of Kangleipak, which was “forcefully taken by India”, and to strive towards an “independent, developed and egalitarian society”.

PREPAK further contended that for a human society to achieve greater heights, development of education is the only means. Many talented human resources of the state are coming forward, especially students, sportspersons, artisans, artiste, amongst others. It is imperative that the talents should be allowed to be explored. Unfortunately, as Kangleipak is under the “colonial rule” of India, these talents are being suppressed. There have been numerous instances of even sportspersons being suppressed by Indians. There is a need to manage these talents properly by having “our own true government”. If those having diplomas and degrees in different fields are not allowed to compete with the world in competitions, they will continue to beg for minimal jobs in other Indian states. “We will never be able to participate and take a lead at the world-stage,” it added.

Not only human resources, but the “Indian Colonialism” continues to exploit the natural resources of Kangleipak, PREPAK asserted. Kangleipak has become as if no one is at the helm, it said adding, “refugees” are destroying the forests at a massive scale by settling at Jiribam and in the hills, thereby devastating the ecological balance of the state.

PREPAK also said that there have been numerous instances of fake encounters, disappearances of innocents and making many people physically handicapped. Atrocities have been meted out to many people disregarding the UN’s human rights and many have been killed as if to eradicate the indegineous people of the state, it added.

Amongst the incidents that broke the hearts of those who love their “motherland” and which ignited the fire of revolutionary movement, the April 26, 1980 incident at Patsoi-Langjing Khunou will be remembered as the first offence of the “colonial rule”. It will forever remain as an unforgettable incident in history, the proscribed outfit said.

“Let us remember the incident and resolve to stand unitedly to root out colonial rule. Let us make sure that colonial culture and traditions do not take root, so as to shield against the offence of IOF,” it added.

PREPAK also appealed to stand unitedly with the slogan “Go back IOF” so that the atrocities of the IOF do not occur again. “Let us inculcate the love of motherland from the racial discrimination and stand against Indian governance, in order to build an idea to live independently. Let us take this chance to regain the lost independence,” stated the outfit in the release.
