Somsai Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR(S) organised “Pipe Band Display and A Day With The Commandant” at Poi Village, Ukhrul district, Manipur bordering Myanmar on April 20, 2023.
The villagers were enthralled by a fiery display and routine of the Pipe Band of the unit. The school children were also energized and motivated by witnessing such an event. The Commandant also interacted with the villagers and schoolchildren and assured them of any cooperation and assistance from Assam Rifles in pursuit of peace and development. Later, refreshments were served to the participants and audience, much to the delight of the locals.
The locals thanked the unit for organising such a memorable show and all the assistance provided by Assam Rifles for the development of the village.
Poi village is about 68 kilometers away from Ukhrul Headquarters Awangkasom and about three kilometers and four kilometers away from Indo-Myanmar border pillar number 126 and 130 respectively.
