Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2025 Held at Tamenglong College

The district-level Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament (VBYP) 2025 was successfully organized on Friday at Tamenglong College, bringing together young minds to deliberate on the theme “One Nation, One Election: Paving the Way for Viksit Bharat.”

The event was graced by Dr. L. Angshim Dangshawa, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Tamenglong, and N. Abonpou Christopher, MES, Zonal Education Officer of Tamenglong, as Special Guests. Dr. Kinthuijinang Maremmei, Principal of Tamenglong College, served as the Functional President of the program.

A total of 251 youth from Tamenglong and Jiribam districts had registered for the event through the MyBharat portal, with selected participants engaging in a spirited debate on the topic.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. K. Maremmei applauded the participants for their enthusiastic engagement and highlighted the importance of “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India)—a vision set by the Government of India to be achieved by 2047, the centenary year of India’s independence. He encouraged the contestants to pursue excellence in their careers and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s development.

Following an insightful discussion, 10 participants were shortlisted to represent the district at the state-level VBYP scheduled for later this month. The top three performers were Best Parliamentarian —Ms. Changkhanliu Ngaomei (B.Sc 2nd Semester, Tamenglong College), Second Best Parliamentarian — Ms. Pamei Genevieve Gaikanpou (BA 3rd Semester, Tamenglong College), Third Best Parliamentarian — Mr. Jukthanlung Gonmei (BA 6th Semester, Tamenglong College).

The event was judged by a panel of five jury members, including D. Meidinbui, MCS, SDO, Tamenglong,  Daichui Gangmei, President, RNSOM, Shinning Panmei, Chairman, RNSOM, Tamenglong Luangrian, NG Tuakeulung, Asst. Professor & Head, Dept. of English, Tamenglong College, Daidatlung Kameih, Asst. Professor & Head, Dept. of Sociology, Tamenglong College.

The VBYP 2025 was organized by the Organising Committee VBYP 2025 and NSS Unit, Tamenglong College, in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
