As part of the celebration of National Sports Day 2021 from 14 – 29 August 2021, Ukhrul District Sports Association (UDSA) campaign “Football For All” concluded today. The campaign is to encourage grassroots development and footballing activities in Ukhrul District.
“Football for All” is a campaign with an aim to help young aspiring footballers under the age of 25. The lockdown has hit every one of us hard and while we all have ample free time, many young aspiring footballers don’t necessarily have a football to kick around. For many young footballers who cannot afford to have a football of their own, playing football during lockdown at home has become a luxury.
With an aim to encourage footballing activities and also to promote health, fitness and well-being amidst these testing times, young aspiring footballers participated in the online football challenge where players exhibit their football skills like drills, shooting, controlling and innovative training skills by sending their recorded video.
Hirasingmi KYS of Hungpung, Thotsem Makan of Ringui and Jims Raikhan of Mapao Zingsho who participated in the campaign were presented with football and other football training equipment on Sunday by UDSA at its office at Wino, Bazaar Ukhrul.
