“At the end of the day, Tengnoupal Village proved that Covid-19 is beatable if we are united in getting vaccinated, follow SOPs and step out only if necessary,” Tengnoupal Village Authority said.

The Tengnoupal Village Authority on Tuesday announced that with the combined initiatives and efforts put together, the village is now a “COVID free village or zone”.
In a release, the village authority said that in the past few weeks, the village has been grappling with fear as 24 persons were found COVID-19 positive while conducting mass testing. Consequently, six persons had been sent to COVID Care Centre Moreh, and the rest were in CIC/Home Isolation,
Due to the rise in COVID confirmed cases within the village in the past week, the COVID Task Force, Tengnoupal under proper guidance and headed by the village chief H John Thangkholen Mate and village secretary Francis L. Haokip had taken strict prevention steps and proper implementation of SOPs, contact tracing to control the spread of the virus, it added.
In the last few days, with the grace of God most of COVID-19 positive persons of Tengnoupal Village have been discharged after completion of home isolation and treatment — six from COVID care centre, four from CIC and 14 from home isolation.
The village authority also expressed heartfelt gratitude to HS Benjamin Mate, Ex-MP candidate (Outer) and spokesperson BJP Manipur for his generous contribution towards the village by donating essential commodities, PPE Kit, sanitizers and Face Masks. It also thanked S Tongpao Mate Ex-vice chairman ADC CDL for the assistance. It also expressed gratitude to COVID Task Force members, medical teams, CSOs and all the individuals who have extended help in all forms during this crisis.
