The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) captain is reportedly married to a Burmese woman in the Ywadaung ward of Sagaing Township and has a daughter, according to a security official, who did not want to be named.

A “captain” of the proscribed People’s Liberation Army (PLA) was arrested by Sagaing City Police, Myanmar.
The arrested individual has been identified as Devan (33) of Kakching Tokpaching, Manipur. He was arrested in August 2020 at the Chindwin River Bridge in Monywa, Zeyar Extension Ward. The Immigration and Population Department in Sagaing Township opened a case against him at the Sagaing City Police Station on January 9 for allegedly marrying a Burmese national with a Burmese identity card, according to reports.
He is reportedly married to a Burmese woman in the Ywadaung ward of Sagaing Township and has a daughter, according to a security official, who did not want to be named.
On August 13, 2020, Devan was arrested while driving from Mandalay to Tamu at the Chindwin River Bridge in Monywa, along with five Indian nationals who had entered Myanmar illegally. They are still being held in Monywa Prison, the report added.
