Returning Officer of Ukhrul District Olympic Association, Worthing Soro (Advocate) on Saturday declared the election results of the office bearer and members of the executive council of Ukhrul District Olympic Association (UDOA) for the tenure 2022-2026.

Former Deputy Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly, Preshow MK Shimray who is also the President of Kick Boxing Association of Manipur has been elected unopossed as the first president of Ukhrul District Olympic Assocaition.
Returning Officer of Ukhrul District Olympic Association, Worthing Soro (Advocate) on Saturday declared the election results of the office bearer and members of the executive council of Ukhrul District Olympic Association (UDOA) for the tenure 2022-2026. He stated “The election result was declare subject to the provisions of the rules and regulations of the Ukhrul District Olympic Association after clearance of due scrutiny, the following candidates as elected unopposed to the post/ppsition (s) mentioned against their name.” Preshow MK Shimray (President), Leiyolan Vashum (Vice-President), VR. Churchill (Vice-President) AC. Tamyo (General Secretary), Ningacham Meiphok (Joint Secretary), Soreichan Nakhedei (Joint Secretary), Ngalayo Makan (Joint Secretary) and Somi Sareo (Treasurer). The following persons were elected unopposed as Executive Members of UDOA, they are Ngaraipam Kasomwoshi, Yaruimung Zimik, Philawon Awungshi, Sword Ronra Shimray and Epchan Pharung. Their respective election certificate will be issued on 17th November 2022.
Around 23 persons have filed their nomination for various post. After the scrutiny of all applicants/candidates for the different posts/positions of the executive council of Ukhrul District Olympic Association, the application of 10 candidates were rejected due to non submission of no objection certificate from corncerned police and some applications were rejected due to non submission of registration certificate of their sports Assocaition to be issued by the office of the Deputy Registrar of Societies, Ukhrul District, Manipur. The Appellate/Greivance Committee of UDOA also dispose an appeal from one candidate.
As per information made available, the election process was participated by 21 sports disciplines operating in Ukhrul District whose discipline are recognised by Manipur Olympic Association and who are duly registered with the Deputy Registrar of Societies, Ukhrul Distric, Manipir under the provision of MSR Act, 1989. It is worth mentioning that, on 1O September 2022, the GBM of Ukhrul District Sports Assocaition has approved and recommended for the formation of Ukhrul District Olympic Association, an umbrella of sports body.
