National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) led by Niki Sumi has once again reiterated that stated that unity is the key to the attainment of Naga People’s aspirations.

In a press release issued on Monday, NSCN (Niki) said opinions on Naga political solution being circulated or floated around seems to “raise more confusion than clarity”.

“Appreciably, it’s a welcomed sign of the interests shed upon Naga political solution but talking in different tongues breed only pandemonium and apprehension amongst us. It will be prudent on the part of the facilitators and stakeholders to avoid mixed and contradictory statements”, stated the release.

The outfit has also raised pertinent issues and asked:

“Have the high officials of GoI such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi or Home Minister Amit Shah officially and publicly laid out Naga solution or are we only putting our twist of narratives as per our own perspectives or speculations?

Which accord or agreement either the Framework Agreement or the Agreed Position is to be implemented?

Is the GoI going to give separately – NSCN (IM), the Framework Agreement and NNPG, the Agreed Position and if so NSCN/GPRN being the third entity also be given a separate solution? By this logic, Civil Society Organizations such as UNC, CNTC, NTC, TPO, ENPO, etc. should also have their separate solutions?”

NSCN (Niki) pointed out that the government of India and Nagas have had a tumultuous relationship over the decades on past accords and agreements and this could not solve the Indo-Naga political issue.

“NSCN/GPRN believes that only when all the CSO unite under one single umbrella such as Naga Hoho, Naga Students’ Federation, Naga Mothers’ Association, GB Federation etc. can lead to unity among Naga Political Groups under one Naga voice culminating in the People’s aspiration of peace and lasting political solution”, said the release.
