In the interest of the aspirants of Nagaland and considering the fact that Nagaland holds the “tag” of being the state with the highest unemployment rate in the country as per 2024 reports, the Combined Technical Association of Nagaland (CTAN) has said it would never allow and compromise with the earlier order No. HFW (A) 10/34/2024/215, dated August 20, 2024, for special recruitment drive for 280 posts.

In a circular issued on Friday, CTAN convener, Er Meshenlo Kath, and co-convener, Kaqheto, stated that the given order is a violation of NPSC Rule 9 (4) which states that all posts both technical and non-technical carrying the pay band of Rs 5200-20200, GP 2800 per month and above to be requisitioned to Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) for open examination while also adding it was also a violation of Article 16 under the Constitution of India.

The circular mentioned that the Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Department’s advertisement for temporary appointments to fill vacancies and newly created posts dated August 4, 2020, clearly stated that All appointments will be on a temporary basis for 12 months or direct recruitment through NPSC whichever is earlier.

The appointees shall have no right to claim for regularization of “Temporary service” on any ground whatsoever.

CTAN said the matter needs no further discussion but timely and wise decision to be taken by the concerned department for the welfare of the aspirants in Nagaland, and particularly the medical aspirants.

Further, it also demanded for cancellation of Order No. HFW (A) 10/34/2014/215, and requisition of the posts to NPSC/NSSB as per the vacancies dated November 2, 2022.

The posts comprise 96 Medical Officers, 41 Junior Specialists, 21 AYUSH Medical Officers, 5 Junior Dental Surgeons, 6 Research Scientists, one Audiologist-cum-speech therapist, 129 Staff Nurses, six Laboratory Technicians,  one Audiology Technician, 10 ECG Technicians and 13 OT Technicians.

CTAN said failing to comply with its demands, it would take its own course of action democratically starting August 26.
