With Yaoshang festival just a couple of days away, a music video album under the theme of building a sports movement as an alternative aesthetics to the festival was released on Tuesday. The song titled “Shannabunggi Shaktam Shannabunggi Mashaikol”, presented by Seikon – Academy of Lisica Performing Arts of Brahmapur Nahabam Leikai, Imphal East.

At a solemn function held at the conference hall of the Manipur Olympic House, Khuman Lampak, MLA Th Radheshyam, Seikon chief advisor Dhanabir Laishram and Govt of Manipur, Youth Affairs & Sports director T Phulen Meitei released the music album.

Speaking at the occasion, MLA Radheshyam stressed on the changing features of the Yaoshang festival. He also elaborated on the effects that the sports movement in the festival has had on the society as a whole. He contended that sportspersons who can excel in their respective fields can achieve both the status and success in life that everyone yearns for.

The former minister also appealed to the organizers and participants of the Yaoshang sports not to give obstruction to others. He cited the example of blocking roads and showcasing the armada of vehicles while coming to Kangla for the torch rally.

Social commentator and Seikon chief advisor Dhanabir Laishram in his presidential speech of the function expressed his wish of introducing indigenous games during the festival.
