A public rally to show its resentment over the alleged murder of Kezhalelie Lawrence Miaslahou, PA to deputy commissioner, Kohima, by two youths on May 18 evening at Phool Bari, Kohima, later identified as Neizosetuo Kire, and Khrietsonyü Whuorie, both of Kohima village, has been organized on May 20.
According to Western Angami Youth Organization (WAYO), general secretary, the rally would commence at 10 am from Paramedical junction, Kohima, and proceed to the office of the deputy commissioner, Kohima, for submission of a memorandum.
In this regard, WAYO appealed to all the Western Angami Citizens to join the rally by assembling at the mentioned point by 9.30 am.
Meanwhile, Mezomia Mechii Kehou (Mezom Citizen’s Forum), Kohima, in a condemnation letter, jointly issued by its vice-president, Mhiesibeizo Vikhrie, and joint secretary, Khrisakuolie Khawakhrie, stated that the forum is anguished and extremely disturbed by the “inhumanity act” of the two individuals leading to the incident at around 4.40 pm on the unfortunate day, at Phoolbari bus/taxi stand, Kohima, resorting to hitting the victim and also assaulting the victim’s son, Thejavizo B Miasalhou, while saving his father.
The forum also stated that as a result of his injury, the victim was taken to Oking hospital, Kohima, and succumbed to his injury in the wee hours of Sunday morning (3 am).
Mezomia Mechii Kehou (Mezom Citizen’s Forum), Kohima, said that late Kezhalelie Lawrence Miaslahou, was an upright person and taking away his life can never be compromised nor accepted.
Condemning the crime committed by the two youths upon an elderly and respected member of the society at large and the union in particular, it urged upon the law enforcing agencies to immediately take up the matter and punish the culprits under all relevant laws of the land while further warning that no bail should be permitted and also that no individual or group should try to bail out the two accused at any cost.
