The concerned authority seems to be ignoring that the students are from a state government recognised Institutions, even though they are not recognised by UGC, he added.
He said that the rationale behind the indefinite shutdown is that since the passed out students from these colleges are not able to pursue further studies since they are not recognised by UGC, what is the point of continuing classes in these institutions?
He also condemned that the government and concerned authorities for not responding positively to the more than two months agitation of the students.
Government Dance College Students’ Union general secretary Saknaibi Potsengbam it is unfortunate that the MUC is denying admission to the students from Institutes which have been existences for the last 66 years. Is the government going to silently watch as these colleges ceased to exist, she asked.
Saknaibi also lashed out at the authority running MUC, questioning their expertise in the field of Arts & Culture. It has demoralised the students of the field. The authority should understand that theory alone cannot uplift the arts and culture of the state without performance, she asserted.
