Shangshak Battalion under the aegis of IGAR (South) is organising a mega sports meet at Shangshak, Ukhrul Manipur from 07- 08 November 2022. 242 students from Six Schools are attending/ participating in the event.
The participating schols are JNV Ramva, Patkai Christian School Shangshak, New Life Mission School Lungreiphung, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Awasiya Vidhyalaya Shangshak, St. Pauls School Ramva, and ARPS Shangshak.
The opening ceremony held on Monday witnessed a huge response from the locals. Students representing their schools were seen participating with full enthusiasm. The event is aimed at promoting good relations and bonhomie amongst the Assam Rifles and the local populace. The students and others present were also educated on various career opportunities in the field of sports, both in forces and outside. Further, the parents of the children were made aware about the upcoming Sainik School and RIMC examinations and preparation required to avail the opportunities.
The parents of children and faculty members of respective Schools appreciated the efforts of Assam Rifles in maintaining peace and tranquillity in the region and requested to organise such sports events in future also.
