Manipur government doctors barred from private practices

The director of Health Services has to ensure that all MHS doctors are on duty in their places of posting, said principal secretary (Health), V Vumlunmang in an order.

Manipur government doctors have been barred from private practices. An order has been issued in this regard by principal secretary (Health), V Vumlunmang on Monday. 

The director of Health Services will inspect & ensure that private hospitals do not engage government doctors, especially Anaesthetist. The first report of surprise inspections has to be submitted on December 2, 2020, the order said. 

At this critical juncture of tackling the COVID-19 pandemic, it is vital that all government doctors are attending duties regularly at their place of posting. The director of Health Services has to ensure that all MHS doctors are on duty in their place of posting, it added. 

It further directed the directors of RIMS and JNIMS to immediately take steps to ensure that their specialists & doctors attend their duties regularly and do not indulge in private practice. Doctors posted at COVID duties should ensure regular & proper monitoring of the COVID patients, the order added.
