COVID-19 active cases in Manipur continued to increase rapidly as it reached 453 on Wednesday. 92 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours with two deaths. The total number of vaccinated individuals reached 1,13,651 as per latest information.
The caseload stands at 29,961 and 380 lives have been claimed by the deadly virus, according to COVID-19 Common Control Room.
The fresh positive cases from the general population are from Imphal West (46), Imphal East (13), Thoubal (9), Bishnupur (5), Churachandpur (5), Chandel (5), Kakching (2), Senapati (1), Jiribam (1), and Kangpokpi (1).
The two deceased are an 80 year old (female, Kakching) and a 63 year old (female. Jiribam), who expired at RIMS and Babina Speciality Hospital respectively.
Meanwhile, air passengers who travelled to the state on April 19 by – (i) Air India Flight AI-889 in rows 27-32 (ii) Indigo flight 6E-172 in rows 19-26 are to inform the Common Covid Control Room 18003453818 or respective District Surveillance Officers (DSO) immediately.

Manipur Government has recently banned entry to the state without production of COVID-19 negative test results declared within the past 72 hours.
The Health Department, Government of Manipur has issued an order in this regard on Wednesday.
Further, persons belonging to Manipur who have to undertake emergency travel due to urgent unforeseen medical or other exigencies may be exempted from possessing a COVID-19 negative report at the time of entry as a special case, and such persons shall be tested at the state’s entry points. Prior information of such emergency travel shall be given through the COVID Control Room Helpline number 1800-345-3818 so that necessary arrangements can be made, it added.
Meanwhile, as an additional stringent measure to check the spread of the infection in the state, the three Ima Keithel and adjoining Temporary Market has been closed for ten days. One in each three shops located in Galis of Thangal Bazar and Paona Bazar are to be opened on rotation.
The Home Department, Government of Manipur on Wednesday issued an order in this regard.
One in each three shops of wholesale and grocery item shops in Masjid road to be opened on rotation. The same goes for Ngari Gali as well.
All public transport vehicles, example Buses, Winger vans, Magic vans, Auto rickshaws, E-Rickshaws, etc., will now carry passengers upto maximum half capacity and will ensure all passengers wear face masks always.
For markets in other districts, the DC and SP have been instructed to immediately evaluate and issue suitable restriction orders.
