Kangpokpi police on Tuesday arrested two active cadres of Kuki National Front (KNF), an outfit under suspension of operation, on charges of extortion.
The arrested individuals have been identified as self style ‘corporal’ Kaikhohao Kipgen @ John (36) s/o (L) Jangkholam Kipgen of J Songtun village, Kangpokpi district, and self style ‘private’ Ngamgouthang Sitlhou aka Jacob (27) s/o Seijangul Sitlhou of Wakotphai village (presently residing at Kangpokpi Ward No. 4).
According to the Cyber & Media Cell of Kangpokpi District Police, the two individuals had demanded money from a lady who was carrying fish by a van and abducted her driver for some time in order to meet their demand. The incident happened at Kangpokpi bazar.
They were found to be active cadres of KNF (SoO group). A case has been registered at Kangpokpi PS.
They were arrested by a Kangpokpi PS team led by OC Kangpokpi Inspector Henminthang Kipgen under the supervision of Kangpokpi SP Karthik Malladi and Additional SP (LO) Thangkhochon Haokip.
