An advertisement was circulated through the media calling for candidates for the post of Field Officer and Direct Agent by the Office of the Superintendent of Post Offices, Imphal, Manipur. The engagement of the said post will be done through “walk-in-interview, the advertisement said. According to the advertisement, candidates were asked to visit o/o Director Postal Services, PU Branch for submission of application and detailed information.

The advertisement has 100 posts each for the above two posts. The date of walk-in-interview were slated as 24-08-2020 and 25-08-2020 for Field Officer and 26-08-2020 to 28-08-2020 were slated for Direct Agent, respectively

Candidates willing to apply went to the said office and found a notification on the wall directing them to submit the following information: Name of candidate, Address, Date of Birth; Name of post applied for and Phone number and drop the piece of paper inside a designated box.

The list of names of applicants/ candidates and serial numbers were put out on the outside wall of the Post office building on 25th August along with the dates for interview according to the serial.

All candidates are expected to verify themselves and get the information on their own. Moreover the slated interview for Direct Agent, which is mentioned in the advertisement as 26th to 28th August, started on 25th August.

A good number of applicants were there from the hill districts. While there is no local transport and strict lockdown, it is doubtful that candidates from outside Imphal would be able to come for an interview. Most candidates’ applications were submitted by relatives or someone living in Imphal.
