Additional chief secretary (Transport) Paulunthang Vaiphei urged the chiefs and general public of the area to support the drivers and helpers as they are providing service to the public.

In a historic event, Imphal-Thangal (via Bishnupur) and Zoujangtek MST bus service was launched on Wednesday at Manipur State Transport Office Complex, Moirangkhom, Imphal. The departure time of the bus service is 6:00 am from Thangal Village Bazar and 1:00 pm from Wahengbam Leikai.
Additional chief secretary (Transport) Paulunthang Vaiphei launched the bus service in the presence of BJP Manipur Pradesh vice-president RK Somorjit Singh, former ADC member of Tamenglong M Daniel, who graced the function as president and guest of honour respectively, a release said.
Speaking on the occasion as the chief guest P Vaiphei stated that MST bus service has provided transport service to about 20 routes in Manipur including far-flung interior areas where the private buses are not plying. He urged the chiefs and general public of the area to support the drivers and helpers as they are providing service to the public.
“We are trying our best to increase the number of routes and provide better transport to the people of Manipur,” he added.
Director (Transport) Nivedita Lairenlakpam, Jt director (Transport) Laishram Delina Devi, officials and staff from transport department attended the function.
