The recovered arms and ammunitions included one AK-81-Rifle with three magazine, one AK-86 with three magazine, one M-16 A4-UBGL (40 mm Grenade Launcher) with one magazine, one M-16 with one magazine, one RPG Launcher, one RPG Shell, 13 AK-56 with 13 magazine, 200 live rounds of 7.62 x 39mm and ten 5.56 mm live rounds, the police added.

In a major breakthrough, the Manipur Police on Sunday recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition at Huikap Awang Leikai Chonga Loukol in Thoubal district and arrested three persons, police said.
According to police, acting on reliable information that some members of UNLF are concealing huge quantity of arms and ammunition at Huikap Awang Leikai Chonga Loukol, District Police, Thoubal rushed a joint team of Commando Unit Thoubal to the area and conducted house-to-house search operations.
The joint team of Commando Unit Thoubal was led by Addl. Superintendent of Police (Ops) Thoubal Sachidananda Soibam (MPS) and Officer-in-Charge, Commando Unit Thoubal Inspt N Tikendra Meitei. The team was assisted by SI L Dhanabir Singh, HC T Jiten and HC Kh. Rambai Singh under the overall supervision of Shri Jogeshchandra Haobijam, IPS, Superintendent of Police Thoubal District, said the police.
At about 01.00 pm, one unknown person tried to escape on seeing the police team from Huikap Awang Leikai Chonga Loukol in suspicious behaviour, he was chased, overpowered and detained.
The police said on preliminary verification, the person identified himself as Laithangbam Praffullo Singh (43) s/o L Kumar Singh of Huikap Awang Leikai. He is found to be a member of the UNLF organisation and working under the command of one Bobo. On his disclosure, the police team conducted a house search of the house and found a huge quantity of arms and ammunition concealed in Sintex of 500 litres, green in colour under the ground in a cowshed at about 02:00 p.m.

The police also said from the disclosure of Laithangbam Praffullo Singh, two persons, who were helping him in concealing the arms and ammunition, were picked up for verification. They were identified with Laitonjam Kumar Singh (47) S/o L. Madhumangol Singh of Huikap Makha Leikai and Wahengbam Tompok Singh (49) s/o Late W Chambi Singh of Huikap Mayai Leikai were picked-up for verification at about 2:30 p.m, they added.
All the persons involved in concealing the arms and ammunition were arrested and they were being handed over to O.C. Andro P.S. along with the recovered arms and ammunition for taking further necessary legal actions, said the police.
