Dimapur Japukong Senso Telongjem observes golden jubilee

Minister of Higher and Technical Education and Tourism, Temjen Imna Along, who graced the golden jubilee celebration as a special guest called for collective action from the Ao community

Dimapur Japukong Senso Telongjem (DJST) on Saturday celebrated its 50th year of existence with a brief programme held on the theme “Molushiba” at Imliyanger Memorial Centre (IMC) hall, Notun Bosti, Dimapur.

Minister of Higher and Technical Education and Tourism, Temjen Imna Along, who graced the golden jubilee celebration as a special guest called for collective action from the Ao community while urging them to lead by exemplary for Nagas’ progress while emphasizing the importance of unity and collective progress in addressing the challenges faced by the Nagas in particular.

With the information and technology presently becoming more accessible, Imna Along urged the community to seize the opportunity to contribute something meaningfully towards state’s development specially highlighting the critical role of young minds by stating that the state rests its responsibilities on to their shoulders while encouraging them to aspire to positions of influence.

Citing that true progress cannot rely on literacy alone, Imna Along also added that education must go beyond basic sills to foster critical thinking, innovation, and a sense of collective responsibility while calling on the Ao community particularly the people from Japukong range to unite and work collaboratively.

He also stressed on the need to set a benchmark for progress by undertaking important initiatives and addressing the pressing issues.

Rev. T. Chuba while stressing on the theme “Molushiba” emphasized the importance of refinement in both individual lives and the broader community.

Reflecting on the symbolic significance of the event, he drew parallels between the process of refining gold and the need for personal and spiritual growth, urging the gathered community to embrace this transformative journey.

As one is living in a generation of refinement, Rev T Chuba, took the opportunity to instil into the minds of the attendees by noting that just as gold holds no true value till it is refined, likewise, individuals too must undergo a process of transformation to realize their full potential.

Highlighting the spiritual dimension of this journey, he stressed that true refinement cannot be achieved without the active involvement of God.

“God refines us to become greater versions of ourselves, preparing us for the responsibilities and challenges of life,” he said while reassuring the audience that when God chooses an individual for a purpose, no force can stand in their way.

Former MLA and minister, Nagaland, Dr Benjongliba, was assisted by convener souvenir committee, Imotemjen Longchar, in releasing the jubilee magazine.

The programme was opened by Dimapur Changdang Kaketshir Telongjem, invocation by T. Sungjem Longkumer, president DJST K Longri Imchen, welcomed the gatherings, remembrance of past leaders and prayers by Rev. Dr Toshi Langu, special song was presented by Dimapur Japukongtsur Tamang Telongjem, short speeches were also delivered by president ASTD, Ningsangwaba, and president JSS Imdongtangba, release of jubilee souvenir by convenor souvenir committee, Imotemjen Longchar, folk song by Dimapur Longjemdang Senso Telongjem, vote of thanks was delivered by convenor, Jubilee planning committee, Limawabang, while the benediction was pronounced by Youth Director, DABA, Maongtoshi Longshir.
