With the arrest of two persons and seizure of Rs 26.80 lakh in cash, the Inspector General of Assam Rifles on Saturday claimed that Tengnoupal Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR(S) has foiled a cross border smuggling attempt of cash near Tengnoupal.
According to a press statement issued by the Inspector General of Assam Rifles, during routine check at Vehicle Check Post, Tengnoupal, troops of Assam Rifles apprehended two persons travelling in a Van from Imphal to Moreh with cash of Rs 26.80 lakh.
The seized amount along with apprehended persons was handed over to Tengnoupal Police for further investigation, added Inspector General of Assam Rifles.
