Manipur continued to report a single day death toll in double digits as the deadly virus claimed 10 more lives on Thursday, taking the total deaths to 536.
As many as 560 fresh cases — 555 persons (287 male and 268 female) from the general population and five personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were reported in the last 24 hours ending 5 pm Thursday, according to the Health Department. The state positivity rate now stands at 14.87 percent.

In the last 24 hours, 10 persons aged 56 yrs (male, Imphal East), 65 yrs (male, Imphal West), 52 yrs (male, Imphal West), 58 yrs (female, Imphal East), 62 yrs (male, Ukhrul), 62 yrs (female, Imphal West), 41 yrs (male, Imphal East), 68 yrs (male, Imphal East), 57 yrs (male, Imphal East), and 64 yrs (male, Senapati) expired at Raj Medicity (2), Shija Hospital (2), DH Ukhrul (1), RIMS (4), and JNIMS (1) hospital respectively.
The positive cases from the general population are from Imphal West (262), Imphal East (120), Bishnupur (45), Churachandpur (45), Thoubal (21), Kakching (17), Kangpokpi (12), Chandel (9), Ukhrul (9), Tamenglong (5), Tengnoupal (4), Kamjong (3), Senapati (2), and Jiribam (1).
The total infections in the state now stand at 37,596 — General Population 33,916 and Central Security Personnel 3,680.
In the last 24 hours, 253 persons were discharged from — CAPF (6), Home Isolation (199), RIMS (9), RD Wing (6), CCC Bishnupur (5), CCC Kakching (3), CCC Jiribam (1), CCC Ukhrul (8), CCC NSU (5), and CCC Churachandpur (11). The recovery rate is 83.76 %.
A total of 1,213 D type Oxygen Cylinders and 447 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Department.
Air passengers who travelled to the state on: (i) May 12 by Air India Al-713 in rows 17-23; (ii) May 10 by Air India AI-713 in rows 10-16; (iii) May 3 by 6E-6034 in rows 24-30 and 6E 2615 in rows 26-31; have been instructed to inform the Common Covid Control Room 1800-345-3818 or respective District Surveillance Officers (DSO) for further surveillance and necessary testing.
Meanwhile, India reported 3.63 lakh new COVID-19 cases and 4,120 deaths in the last 24 hours ending 8 am Thursday, as per Union Health Ministry. 3.52 lakh patients were discharged during the period.
The active cases now stand at 37.11 lakhs. The number of the total infections in the country has reached 2.37 crore and 2.58 lakhs deaths. 17.72 crore individuals have been vaccinated in the country.
