COVID-19 Manipur: Record 9,008 tests conducted, 730 new cases reported

Out of the 9,359 active cases in the state, 4,019 are in home isolation at present.

As the Manipur government continued mass testing for COVID-19, the state’s daily positivity rate dipped to 8.1 per cent on Thursday. Out of record 9,008 tests conducted, 730 were found positive in the last 24 hours ending 5 pm Thursday, according to the Health Department.

The State Level Covid 19 Deaths Audit Committee reported 10 deaths due to Covid-19 taking the toll to 925. Out of 10 deaths, six were from Imphal West, two from Thoubal, and one each from Churachandpur and Imphal East. They died at RIMS (2), JNIMS (4), Babina (1), Shija Hospital (1), DH Thoubal (1), and DH Churachandpur (1).

Out of the 9,359 active cases in the state, 4,019 are in home isolation at present.

The positive cases from the general population are —

225 from Imphal West, 160 from Imphal East, 101 from Thoubal, 87 from Churachandpur, 55 from Kakching, 48 from Bishnupur, 13 each from Jiribam and Senapati, 10 from Tamenglong, seven from Noney, five from Ukhrul, three from Chandel, and one each from Tengnoupal, Kamjong, and Pherzawl.

On Thursday, 668 persons were discharged — 505 from home isolation, 11 from RIMS, 9 from JNIMS and the rest 143 from other COVID care facilities. The recovery rate is 82.29 per cent.

The total number of infections in the state has reached 58,081 so far

Oxygen Status

As per the Health Department, in the last 24 hours, a total of 1345 D-type Oxygen cylinders and 521 B-type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of Manipur.
