The trend of more daily recoveries than the daily cases has led to a continuous contraction of active cases in the country.

Manipur continues to report double-digits fresh COVID-19 cases. 37 persons were reported as new COVID-19 positive cases on Saturday with one death, taking the cumulative number of deaths to 357. While 40 persons were discharged during the same period.
The positive cases from general population are from Imphal West (12), Imphal East (8), Thoubal (5), Bishnupur (2), Tamenglong (7) and Churachandpur (3). All are locals without any significant travel history, according to a release by Manipur Health Department additional director and spokesperson Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang.
The person who expired at JNIMS Hospital is aged 52 yrs (female) from Kakching. The recovery rate stands at 94.82 %. The number of active cases is 1,104 (General Population – 993 and Central Security Personnel – 111). The cumulative number of positive cases as of Saturday is 28,243 (General Population – 24,863 and Central Security Personnel – 3,380).
Meanwhile, the trend of more daily recoveries than the daily cases has led to a continuous contraction of active cases in the country. India’s Active Caseload dropped down to 2.50 lakh which stands at 2,50,183 on Saturday, a PIB release said.
While 19,079 persons in India were found to be COVID positive, 22,926 new recoveries were registered during the same period. This has led to a net decline of 4,071 cases from the total Active Caseload in the last 24 hours.
The Recovery Rate has improved to 96.12%. The gap between Recovered cases and Active cases is steadily increasing and presently stands at 96,56,204. 224 case fatalities were reported in the past 24 hours, the release added.
