Chief Justice of the High Court of Manipur, PV Sanjay Kumar has been tested positive for COVID-19.
He was amongst the 1,003 confirmed cases reported by the state health department on Wednesday. The positivity rate stood at 13.79 per cent.
The number of active cases in the state has surged to 10,922. Out of this, 4,876 are in home isolation at present, according to the IDSP update.
The positive cases from the general population are from — Imphal West (264), Imphal East (221), Bishnupur (176), Churachandpur (90), Thoubal (48), Kakching (45), Noney (36), Kangpokpi (36), Tamenglong (31), Chandel (25), Ukhrul (11), Senapati (8), Kamjong (5), Jiribam (3), Tengnoupal (1), and Pherzawl (1).
In the last 24 hours, the State Level Covid 19 Deaths Audit Committee has reported 12 COVID-19 deaths from — Imphal West (6), Imphal East (2), Thoubal (2), Kakching (1), and Kangpokpi (1). Out of 12 deaths, nine persons had comorbidities, and out of 12 deaths, only three of them were vaccinated with the first dose, according to the health department.
On Wednesday, 871 persons were discharged from — Home Isolation (375), RIMS (21), JNIMS (8), CCCs (248), and CHICS (219). The recovery rate stood at 87.02 per cent.
The reported total number of infections of the state now stands at 95,824 and 1,510 total deaths.
