As part of its campaign against drugs and illicit substances, Coalition Against Drugs & Alcohol (CADA) on Saturday seized and publicly destroyed Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and other foreign liquor worth Rs 2 lakh at Soibam Leikai Meri Leirak, Imphal East.
A team of CADA carried out the drive at around 2:00 pm and seized the liquor from one Ningombam Binoy Singh (40), Soibam Leikai Meri Leirak, as per a release.
Many bottles and cans of whiskey, rum, wine and beer were publicly destroyed at the spot, it added.

Instead of saving the lives of people by strictly banning alcohol, the government is engaged in an untenable campaign by lying to the people, CADA said and maintained that the alcohol warehouse from Dimapur is being brought to the state to drown the people with liquor.
