Speaking at executive meeting of BJP Ukhrul District Mahila Morcha at its office at Hamleikhong, Loteeka Devi said, “I as a president of Mahila Marcha will vouch for any women candidate in the forthcoming ADC election as well as the party candidates to form the government at grassroot level. Our ultimate goal is to win the election.”

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Manipur Mahila Morcha president L Loteeka Devi has urged Ukhrul district Mahila Morcha members to ensure that BJP wins more councillors in the forthcoming ADC (Autonomous District Council) election from the district.
“ADC election is nearing. We have only one BJP councillor in Ukhrul ADC. Mahila Morcha must ensure that we have more BJP councillors in the forthcoming election. I as a president of Mahila Marcha will vouch for any women candidate in the forthcoming ADC election as well as the party candidates to form the government at grassroot level. Our ultimate goal is to win the election,” she said.
Loteeka Devi was speaking at the executive meeting of BJP Ukhrul District Mahila Morcha at its office at Hamleikhong, Ukhrul on Friday.
The meeting was attended by former deputy speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly Preshow MK Shimray, BJP Ukhrul District president Thotthing Kashung, Mahila Morcha Ukhrul in-charge Laishram Memicha Devi, Mahila Morcha Ukhrul District president VS Wungreichon, Mahila Morcha (ST) state treasurer Philathing Jelly, party leaders, and workers from 43-Phungyar, 44-Ukhrul and 45-Chingai Assembly Constituencies.
L Loteeka Devi in her speech said, “We willingly volunteered to be the workers of BJP. Knowing the responsibilities and duties we have come together under Mahila Morcha.”
Elaborating on the importance of Mahila Morcha, she said, “Half of the 28 lakhs population of Manipur is women. “We have a big role in choosing and sending our representatives through our precious vote. It is time for the women to analyse, reason and give our vote to the most deserving candidates, the leaders who will represent people’s wishes and desires.”
She also informed that before March 30, 2021, in all the booths of Phungyar, Ukhrul and Chingai Assembly Constituencies, they will constitute a 10-membered committee at the village level to study the mindset of voters at boot level.
She also stated, for any meeting of Mahila Morcha at state or district level, the party has not sanctioned any party fund for organising such meeting. “We contribute from our pocket and well-wishers. Even if we cannot afford to hire chairs and sound systems, let us sit on the ground, shout on top of our voice and perform our duty.”
Mahila Morcha (ST) state treasurer Philathing Jelly in her speech informed the gathering the various schemes and activities taken up by BJP at centre and state level. She expressed immense gratitude to Preshow MK Shimray for his constant support and cooperation extended towards the Mahila even at mandal level. She also stressed on the need to strengthen the “mahila” at grassroot level and urged the state leaders for organising mahila morcha meetings once a month in Ukhrul district.
