The Churachandpur Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (S) apprehended two cadres of the proscribed group PLA at Selshi village of Churachandpur on Thursday.
Based on specific intelligence regarding cross border movement of insurgents, troops of Assam Rifles launched an operation that led to the apprehension, according to sources.
The apprehended insurgents were identified as Self Styled Corporal Joy Chandra aka Ching Daiba and Self Styled Private Rama Kanta aka Mao Cheming who were based in the PLA camp located at Senam in Chin State of Myanmar.
Subversive material was also recovered from their possession. The insurgents were handed over to Churachandpur Police Station for further investigation.
