Assam Rifles distribute rations at orphanage

Apart from providing ration, a lecture was also organised for the children and staff on their role in fighting against COVID-19 pandemic by adhering to the precautionary measures against the disease and the guidelines provided by the government authorities.

Troops of Churachandpur sector Assam Rifles (AR) distributed rations at various locations of Churachandpur, Bishnupur and Pherzwal districts of Manipur on Thursday. 

The distribution was part of “its (AR) relentless pursuit to reach out to people and as a gesture of social responsibility,” a release said. The Churachandpur battalion AR organised the distribution of rations at the Bethel Children’s Home, whereas the Singhat battalion organised the event at the Jawaharlal Nehru Bal Bhavan School for Orphans, which is run in conjunction with a NGO SHARE (social human action for rural empowerment) at Mata village in Churachandpur district, the release added. 

AR said it understands the hardship faced, due to COVID -19 Pandemic, by such institutions which are dependent on charitable organisations and thus made a humble effort to contribute to the social cause.
