Ahead of Easter Sunday, celebrated by Christians across the globe, an Easter Cantata — a musical evening organized under the aegis of the Christian Leaders Fellowship (CLF) in collaboration with Livingstone Foundation International, Dimapur — enthralled the audience with a captivating performance. Children showcased their talents with perfection, while singers mesmerized the crowd with powerful renditions of songs.

Held at the Dimapur District Sports Complex (DDSC) Stadium, Golaghat Road, Dimapur, the event faced a brief interruption due to a downpour. However, the spirit of the audience remained undeterred, as they appreciated the performances by the young artistes who enacted a musical play based on the life of Esther.

With the theme “Experience the Passion of Christ” — from the Last Supper to the Resurrection — the play transported the audience back 2,000 years to Jerusalem through powerful storytelling and music.

Speaking to this correspondent, Pastor Sona Abraham of the CLF shared that more than 30 participants, drawn from diverse backgrounds, came together for the event. He emphasized that the main objective was to extend support to the downtrodden and spread the message of love and compassion.

“Through this Easter Cantata, we want to spread the message of love and peace, which Jesus Christ has always taught, irrespective of one’s status,” he said.

He also added that the platform aims to highlight the talents of the youth in order to glorify God.

Other speakers included CLF Northeast Director, Rev. Uday Raj from Guwahati, Assam.
