The proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party commemorated its 42nd foundation day on Thursday. The main event was held at KCP/MFL’s 131 Battalion, said a statement issued by the outfit’s Secretary‐In‐Charge: Information & Publicity S Manga.
KYKL/MYL Deputy Finance Secretary L. Ingba was the guest of honour while KCP/MFL Chief of Army Staff H. Ibomcha presided over the main function at KCP/MFL’s 131 Battalion, said the statement. KCP/MFL G-2 N. Mani, KYKL/MYL First Battalion CO S Dhana and KCP/MFL G-3 M Robin graced the function as special guests, it added.
The statement said the function began with the guest of honour lighting the lamp and the president unfurling the flag of the outfit. 131 Battalion Adjutant T. Saiyon gave the welcome address while R.O. T. Yaipharemba read out the statement of the Central Committee to the people in connection with the outfit’s 42nd foundation day, said the Press release.
According to it, guest of honour L. Ingbana said on the occasion that human beings have a limited lifespan. Revolutionary fighters have to carry out a revolution within this limited lifespan. “More sufferings are in store for us if we prolonged revolutionary movements. So, we must leave no stone unturned to advance the movement and we must keep revolutionary flame burning” he added.
The statement said special guest N. Mani urged young cadres to learn everything and enhance the knowledge when they have ample time and become valued revolutionaries. He said that all their efforts are for the betterment of future generations. Present leaders will get old one day and young cadres will have to step into their shoes.
Addressing as special guest, S. Dhana said, “We cannot call our movement a revolutionary one without the participation of masses. Let’s become a fighter for the masses.”
Lamenting shielding of the rich for some benefits despite knowing their guilt while not standing for poor farmers and laborers though they are right, special guest M. Robin said, “We must always stand for truth and righteousness.”
Speaking on the occasion, president of the function H. Ibomcha said due to lack of proper state government’s policy for growing rice, pulses, maize and other vegetables, Manipur remains dependent on imports for food despite having huge fertile arable land in both valley and hills.
Stating that the attack on the source of food by the colonial government and keeping a nation dependent to further their colonial interest is not new, he alleged that the same is being followed by India against our masses. And he emphasised on the need for producing enough food so that Kangleipak becomes not dependent on others for food.
The 42th foundation day functions were also organised at the outfit’s central headquarters, general headquarters, training centres and other units, said the statement.
